Delivering an advanced prison upgrade
CPB Contractors worked with Queensland Corrective Services to deliver significant facility upgrades at the Capricornia Correctional Centre to support an increase in capacity and ongoing prison services.
The design and construct contract generated revenue to CPB Contractors of approximately $145 million.
Construction commenced in early 2018 and concluded in 2020.
Our extensive track record of correctional facilities work is built on a disciplined and cost-effective approach, working collaboratively with our clients to complete challenging building programs in live, secure environments, without disrupting real-time facility operations.
During all phases of the project, our team was committed to developing increased local job and work opportunities for Queensland’s Capricorn Coast residents and businesses as a priority, and to ensure that all project objectives were achieved.
Scope of works included:
- A minimum of 164 additional residential cells in new buildings;
- 100 bunks in secure cells;
- A new residential officers station; and
- A site-wide electronic security upgrade.
