Delivering the Acute Services Building (ASB)
CPB Contractors is working with New Zealand’s Ministry of Health to construct the Christchurch Hospital Acute Services Building (ASB) in New Zealand.
Delivering new and upgraded health infrastructure is a core capability for us and we are committed to working with our clients to deliver outstanding healthcare solutions.
Following a competitive tender process, our team has worked with the Ministry of Health under a Pre-Construction Services Agreement to develop the project’s construction methodologies, program and cost. The process has captured innovations and savings which will enhance efficient construction.
The 62,000 square metre ASB will adjoin Christchurch Women’s Hospital.
The facility includes:
- A new emergency department and operating theatres;
- An expanded intensive care unit;
- Children’s facilities;
- A state-of-the-art radiology department; and
- A rooftop helipad.
Construction of the ASB is planned for completion by mid-2018.
The project is part of the New Zealand Ministry of Health’s NZ$650 million-plus redevelopment of Christchurch and Burwood Hospitals.
