Broad preferred for Howard Smith Wharves redevelopment

8 Dec 16

CPB Contractors’ wholly-owned subsidiary, Broad, has been selected by HSW Nominees and Asian Pacific Group as the preferred tenderer to design and construct the Howard Smith Wharves redevelopment in Brisbane.

This project is an exciting addition to our portfolio and a landmark project for Broad in Queensland.

It is our privilege to be contributing our capabilities and experience in delivering this significant project, including managing the complex interfaces between urban construction, heritage works, stakeholders and surrounding communities.

Works include the development of 2.7 hectares of public open space for markets and festivals; a 164 room, 5-star boutique hotel; a new convention and exhibition centre; refurbished existing buildings to accommodate restaurants and cafés; and a two-level basement car park for around 360 vehicles.

We look forward to continuing our collaborative relationship with HSW Nominees and Asian Pacific Group, and to building a world class, vibrant and socially-inclusive piece of infrastructure for the people and communities of Brisbane.

Construction is scheduled to commence in early 2017 and be completed by mid-2018.
