Our aim is to establish Indigenous participation across our workforce as a project discipline.
Our endeavours in support of this include:
- developing strategies to include opportunities for Indigenous people
- training and equipping our people with cultural knowledge and understanding
- working with our subcontractors so that they engage with Indigenous people and communities
- building relationships with external Indigenous employment programs, providers and agencies
CareerTrackers is a national, non-profit organisation supporting the long-term career aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander university students through the creation of private sector internship opportunities.
Leveraging the 45-year legacy of the INROADS African-American internship program in the United States, CareerTrackers has adapted this model to engage with students during their studies and link them to employers who offer multi-year paid internships.
In 2013, the CareerTrackers 10×10 Program was established. This saw 10-year contracts signed by various leading Australian companies, each formalising a commitment to providing internship positions for Indigenous students within the CareerTrackers Indigenous Internship Program. In committing to 10 years of partnership, these companies will help to preserve the program for the benefit of future Indigenous students around Australia.
CPB Contactors was the first corporate organisation in Australia to sign a 10-year partnership with CareerTrackers under the 10×10 Program, and we continue to support our interns as they embark on their career journeys.
