CPB Contractors' M12 Motorway West team recently welcomed students and teachers from nearby Luddenham Public School to site for a firsthand look into what's involved in bringing a complex motorway project to life.
Led by CPB Contractors Project Director Nick Fryday, the visit began with a safety induction and an overview of the project. Students heard about the unique construction methods and was introduced to some of the plant used onsite.
A highlight of the day was a conservation demonstration featuring turtles from the 1 Million Turtles community program #1millionturtles, led by Associate Professor Dr Ricky Spencer. The students learned about the importance of freshwater turtles for local waterways' health and had the exciting opportunity to hold these remarkable creatures.
CPB Contractors is delivering the M12 Motorway West package in a joint venture. The delivery of this project includes the construction of a 6km dual carriageway motorway between The Northern Road, Luddenham, and 400 metres east of Badgerys Creek, along with the construction of eleven bridges and a grade-separated interchange connected with the Western Sydney International Airport.
