Transport for NSW’s M6 Stage 1 Delivery Partner team’s recent Family and Friends Day was a roaring success. Held at the project's Bicentennial Park site, the sun was shining, and conditions were perfect for the CPB Contractors’ team to showcase the progress of their work.
With over 350 guests in attendance, the event offered a range of attractions for all ages. Highlights included site bus tours, show bag giveaways, colouring activities, face painting, food trucks serving fairy floss, ice cream and coffee, a live band, and much more.
One of the main attractions for young guests was the opportunity to sit in some of the larger machinery and then take a ride in a junior-sized version of the same equipment.
Feedback from team members in attendance was resoundingly positive, with CPB Contractors Senior Methods Engineer sharing how unforgettable the day was for her loved ones.
“My son is still talking about all the construction machinery he drove that day… He had a blast! It was an incredible experience for the kids, and it was a proud moment for me when I had the chance to take my mum on a bus tour of the project we are bringing to life," she said.
The project team collaborated with a number of local, social enterprise, and Indigenous-owned businesses to bring the event to life. Guests had the opportunity to make traditional bread with Aunty Beryl and create art symbols with artist Dennis Golding.
CPB Contractors is currently delivering the M6 Stage 1 in a joint venture with fellow CIMIC Group company UGL and Ghella. The project includes the delivery of an underground motorway connection between President Ave, Kogarah and the M8, mainline tunnels, exit/entry ramps, and shared pedestrian and cyclist pathways.
