The Tram Grade Separation Projects Alliance (comprising of CPB Contractors, McConnell Dowell, Mott MacDonald, Arup, Aurecon and the Department for Infrastructure and Transport) is continuing construction on Adelaide’s Tram Grade Separation Projects, to reduce congestion and improve safety. The projects, being delivered on behalf of the South Australian Government, include new tram overpasses, improved intersections, enhanced cyclist and pedestrian access, and new community spaces.
Three level crossings are being removed, where the Glenelg tram line crosses Marion Road and Cross Road, Plympton and Morphett Road, Morphettville. The South Road tram overpass at Glandore is also being rebuilt to accommodate the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project lowered motorway.
Intersections are also being upgraded at Marion Road and Anzac Highway, Marion Road and Cross Road, and Morphett Road and Anzac Highway.
Animations and before-and-after visuals of the new overpasses are available at tgsp.sa.gov.au, featuring the construction staging and benefits of the projects.
