Last month, members of our NSW team volunteered their time to help set up a newly established women’s shelter in Glenfield.
The shelter, run by Women's Community Shelters, has been established to provide a safe and supportive environment for women aged 55 and over who are escaping domestic violence. It is especially significant for minority groups, such as women with unresolved Australian visa status, who often face additional barriers when seeking secure accommodation and support services.
Our team worked together to assemble flatpack furniture for the new facility, contributing to the creation of a welcoming and comfortable space for residents.
General Manager NSW/ACT Infrastructure Rob Monaci was one of the volunteers and said it was a great opportunity to give back to the local community.
"It was a privilege to roll up our sleeves and do something practical for such an important cause. Seeing the team come together - not just to build furniture, but to help build hope and safety for women starting over - was incredibly rewarding."
This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable members of our community and standing alongside organisations working tirelessly to create safety, dignity, and hope for women in need.
At CPB Contractors, we believe our responsibility goes beyond the projects we deliver - it's about staying connected to the communities around us.
Women’s Community Shelters works with communities to establish new shelters, which provide short term emergency accommodation and support in a safe environment that enables homeless women to rebuild self-esteem and achieve control and fulfilment of their lives.
