Last month, the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA) Redevelopment site came alive with excitement and imagination as CPB Contractors hosted its first-ever Little Builders Day - a special event designed to give the children of our project team a hands-on introduction to the world of construction.
The event welcomed 25 enthusiastic young participants, all eager to learn more about what their parents and carers do on-site. The day began with a fun and engaging project overview led by Project Manager Steve Garzo and his team, who broke down the complexities of the RPA redevelopment into a format our young visitors could understand and enjoy.
With curiosity sparked, the children then took part in interactive planning and building activities, using Lego, magnet tiles and other creative tools to bring their construction ideas to life. From designing their own structures to exploring the importance of teamwork, the day provided plenty of opportunities to learn through play.
Each child received a ‘Certified Junior Builder’ certificate and sticker to celebrate their involvement, before heading off for a supervised site viewing. Donning hard hats, safety vests and radios, they experienced the real-life setting of a major infrastructure project - all with big smiles and plenty of excitement.
Little Builders Day not only brought families together on-site, but reinforced CPB Contractors’ commitment to building a positive, inclusive culture - one where learning, curiosity, and future potential are encouraged at every age.
