At CPB Contractors, a member of the CIMIC Group, our people are supported to thrive in their careers - and for Tadas Idas, this has meant expanding his horizons to capture an exciting new opportunity.
Senior Project Engineer Tadas Idas has recently embraced a sea change, relocating from the NEWest Alliance project in Western Australia to the Tram Grade Separations Alliance in South Australia.
We caught up with Tadas to understand what prompted the move and his advice for others considering relocating to a new opportunity.
What drew you to relocate to South Australia, Tadas?
The major draw for me was the opportunity to take on an interesting project and gain a completely new experience.
Having never been to South Australia before, the chance to explore a new environment, both professionally and personally, made the move even more exciting. It was a great way to step out of my comfort zone - and embrace something fresh and challenging.
Was this something you and your family discussed for some time or was it an easy decision to make?
My wife and I had been craving a new adventure and had discussed the possibility for some time. So, when the opportunity became available, it was an easy decision to make. It felt like the perfect chance to embrace something new and exciting.
What were some of the things you had to consider before making the decision?
With young kids, our top priority was finding a school where they would feel happy and supported. We also needed a home that suited our family’s needs—somewhere comfortable, and close enough to the project to make daily life easier. Making sure we had the right environment for both work and family life was essential in our decision.
Do you have any advice for anyone who might be considering the move?
We’re so happy we made the move, and I’d definitely encourage anyone thinking about it to go for it! It’s been a great experience for us, and sometimes taking that leap leads to amazing opportunities.
