Our water infrastructure expertise takes centre stage as our Alliance Program Manager Ian Dunbabin is recognised among the nation's best for Water Professional of the Year at the annual Australian Water Awards in Tasmania.
This recognition highlights not only Ian’s outstanding leadership - from his 22 years as a Navy engineer to now guiding Tasmania’s Capital Delivery Office program - but also the capability, commitment and talent of our entire team.
Under Ian's leadership, the program has:
- Delivered critical upgrades to treatment plants, pipelines and dams, including the Bryn Estyn Water Treatment Plant with 83% Tasmanian business involvement
- Built local capability, with 80% of work delivered by Tasmanian contractors and apprenticeships supported across major projects
- Created a legacy of stronger systems, safety and governance for future major water programs.
Ian is admired for his integrity, fairness and people-first leadership. Whether mentoring emerging leaders, supporting diversity and inclusion or ensuring safe drinking water for communities, he is a true advocate for the water sector and the communities it serves.
