With reducing climate pollution a priority across the construction industry, CPB Contractors NSW Plants & Assets team continues to pioneer powerful new ways to slash energy and diesel emissions, with their latest EcoPro power solution now deployed on Transgrid’s HumeLink West project.
This latest development of CPB Contractors’ EcoPro sustainable power solutions sees the rollout of the next-generation EcoPro Hybrid Power Systems (HPS) featuring integrated carports and site shelters. This new design iteration significantly advances the original EcoPro HPS prototype by solving site footprint constraints while delivering exceptional fuel and emissions reductions.

The new EcoPro HPS solar and battery systems are designed for rapid deployment in as little as three hours, without ground works or complex installation, and can be easily packed up and moved when a project is complete. Their modular design means power generation can grow with a project, and if site demands increase, an extra solar container can be plugged into the existing system to increase the solar capacity.
This solution builds on CPB Contractors’ highly successful EcoPro Mobile Site Facilities, which deliver less fuel, less noise and better outcomes for site teams. Currently there are three EcoPro HPS utilised on the Humelink West project with another four systems to be installed. The three operating systems have replaced one 125kVA generator and two 30kVA generators and are estimated to save 26,280 hours of generator run time, 201,480L of diesel and 543 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. These numbers will increase significantly as the additional four systems are installed.
To add to this, the new design has saved approximately 650 m2 of site space that would normally be needed to accommodate solar arrays of this size.
CPB Contractors’ Plant & Assets Manager for NSW, ACT and New Zealand, Wade Rogan leads the design and development of the EcoPro suite of assets, alongside a broader portfolio of sustainable plant and asset equipment for projects.
Wade says, “Our new modular solution goes even further, integrating solar arrays directly into undercover car parking and site shelters, achieving a net zero footprint for solar infrastructure.
"We’re proud of our latest innovation, and the sky’s the limit for its future uses in cutting emissions.”
