CPB Contractors continues to expand its EcoPro sustainable power solutions with the development of the EcoPro Solar Carport - an innovative approach to solar generation designed specifically for space-constrained construction environments.
Developed in-house by the Plant and Assets team, the EcoPro Solar Carport addresses one of the key challenges faced on infrastructure projects: the availability of space for solar installations. Traditional solar arrays often require significant land or structural works, making them difficult to implement on active construction sites. The EcoPro solution overcomes this by integrating solar panels into a modular carport structure, allowing projects to generate renewable energy while maintaining valuable operational space.
The containerised, self-contained system can be rapidly deployed without ground penetrations or permanent foundations, enabling projects to install solar generation within existing car park or laydown areas. The system integrates directly with CPB Contractors' EcoPro Hybrid Power Stations, increasing renewable energy capacity while reducing reliance on diesel-powered generation.
Plant and Assets Manager Wade Rogan said the solution was driven by practical site challenges.
“We knew solar worked, but projects often don't have the space for it. The carport concept allowed us to generate power without compromising valuable working areas. It’s about making sustainable solutions easy to adopt on real projects.”
The EcoPro Solar Carport is one of a number of market-leading plant assets designed and built in-house by CPB Contractors' NSW Plant and Assets team to support CPB Contractors’ decarbonisation journey by providing scalable, reusable infrastructure that delivers both environmental and operational benefits across large-scale infrastructure projects.
