Delivered in 2011, the project entailed simultaneously constructing five two-storey accommodation blocks at Albany, Casuarina, and Hakea prisons in Western Australia.
Broad Construction collaborated closely with the Department of Corrective Services from the project's initial stages to the design, plan, and construction phases.
Construction of these structures incorporated unique prison security features, with each block containing 64 cells, each accommodating two inmates in a double bunk configuration, including a shower and toilet.
To expedite delivery and enhance prison security logistics, Broad Construction utilised large, prefabricated components, predominantly precast structures with suspended upper floors.
Strict adherence to security protocols was maintained while working within operating prisons, resulting in no security breaches throughout the project.
