CPB Contractors (through our historic company Leighton Contractors) delivered the Defence Logistics Transformation Program – Joint Logistics Unit, South-East Queensland (DLTP JLU SQ) between 2011 and 2015. The Defence Logistics Transformation Program was a government initiative designed to consolidate and rationalise the Department of Defence’s existing wholesale storage and distribution network.
The $150 million project was delivered using Defence’s Managing Contractor contract, and scope included:

- Development of a precinct to accommodate 300 employees, including approximately 125 in a new JLU SQ Headquarters facility
- A 12,000 m² General Warehousing and Freight Distribution Centre
- Specialist facilities to support weapon and electronic instrumentation maintenance. testing and storage
- Paint and panel facility
- Hardstand, carparking and associated facilities.
The project was sited in an area with a long history of military use, and include UXO surveys and some remediation.
