CPB Contractors, in joint venture, has been selected to deliver the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport’s airside civil and pavement works.
This is the third project awarded by Western Sydney Airport to the joint venture, following the earlier award of two earthworks packages.
The scope of works includes airside services and utilities, including aircraft pavements (runway and taxiways), aircraft isolation pad, airside roads, landscaping and aeronautical ground lighting system (including associated sub-station buildings) and other specialist systems.
CPB Contractors will leverage its experience in delivering major projects in Western Sydney to maximise training and jobs for local people and economic opportunities for local suppliers.
Construction will take two years. Western Sydney International Airport is due to open in late 2026.

Scope of work For the Airside Civil and Pavement Works Package
(a) Airfield pavements including the 05L/23R runway, associated taxiways, aircraft isolation and engine run up pads
(b) Airfield roads including airside perimeter road, facilities access roads and landside roads in the north west and south west areas of the Airport site
(c) Airfield drainage connecting to the trunk drainage system completed by the Bulk Earthworks Contractor (BEC)
(d) Airfield facilities including airfield lighting equipment room (ALER) buildings and security restricted area facilities
(e) Airfield services including sitewide high voltage (HV) power, sitewide fibre optic cable backbone and hydraulic services to ARFF and aviation fuel farm sites
(f) Airfield systems including aeronautical ground lighting, navigational aids and airfield security (including security cameras, lighting and fencing)
(g) Airfield infrastructure including services corridor trenching, ducts, conduits and pits within the site
(h) Airfield landscaping including placement of final level topsoil across airfield.
Compliance with Australian Industry Participation Plan
In accordance with the requirements of the Australian Industry Participation Plan (AIPP), packages will be released to potential suppliers in an open, fair and transparent manner.
