CPB Contractors has been selected by the Australian Government and the Australian Capital Territory Government to deliver the Canberra Light Rail Stage 2A in a joint venture.
Delivered alongside Pacific Partnerships and UGL, both CIMIC Group companies, the project will provide a wireless light rail extension, modernising the city’s public transport system. The extended light rail will connect residential areas with employment centres and social and cultural hubs. This is the third Canberra Light Rail package awarded to Canberra Metro.
The design and construction scope of work includes delivery of three new stops at Edinburgh Avenue, City South and Commonwealth Avenue, with construction commencing in early 2025 for a three-year duration.
CPB Contractors is proud to continue delivering the Canberra Light Rail after successfully delivering Stage 1 works. Bringing more than 70-years of expertise in delivering transformational rail projects across Australia, CPB Contractors will prioritise training and job opportunities for locals and economic prospects for local suppliers throughout construction.
CPB Contractors acknowledge the Ngunnawal people of the Ngunawal Nation as the traditional and continuing custodians of the lands on which Canberra Light Rail Stage 2A will be delivered.
