CPB Contractors is delivering the Queensland Governments, Gateway to Bruce Upgrade as part of the Gateway Connect Joint Venture, which includes BMD and Georgiou.
The upgrade involves providing additional lanes on the Gateway Motorway, improving the motorway curve at Bracken Ridge and upgrades to the Bruce Highway interchange with Gateway Motorway and Gympie Arterial Road, south of the Pine River.
Key features of the project include:
- Additional lanes on the Gateway Motorway
- Improved connections to Bracken Ridge Road and Deagon Deviation
- Upgrades to the Gateway Motorway curve at Bracken Ridge
- Replacing the Wyampa Road overpass
- Staged improvements to the Gateway Motorway, Bruce Highway and Gympie Arterial Road interchange
- Shared active transport pathways
- Wildlife protection fencing and underpasses.
Sustainability
The project is required to achieve an “Excellent” IS Rating or better under v1.2 of the IS Council’s Rating Scheme, for Design and As-Built submissions. As part of this, the project is required to:
- Achieve Scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction of 15% compared to a base case design, across both construction and operations;
- Achieve at least 20% renewable energy substitutions, across both construction and operations;
- Investigate and implement feasible opportunities to reduce embodied emissions of permanent materials;
- Undertake a climate change risk assessment;
- Achieve a minimum of 80% diversion from landfill of clean and inert spoil, 50% diversion from landfill of inert and non-hazardous waste, and 40% diversion from landfill of office waste.
- Achieve two verified innovation initiatives
Location
CPB Contractors acknowledges the Yuggera Ugarapul. People as the traditional and continuing custodians of the lands on which the Gateway to Bruce Upgrade is being delivered.

GATEWAY TO BRUCE UPGRADE – VENDORS EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI)
Gateway Connect JV (CPB Contractors, BMD, Georgiou) is seeking suitably qualified contractors for upcoming packages of works for the Gateway to Bruce Upgrade (G2BU) project including Gateway Motorway, Bracken Ridge to Pine River upgrade and Bruce Highway (Brisbane to Gympie) Gateway Motorway to Dohles Rocks Road upgrade (Stage 1).
