CPB Contractors is proud to be shortlisted for the Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award, recognising companies who excel in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion across the built environment.
Recognition in this highly competitive category reflects the breadth of our initiatives. Through long-term partnerships with Social Traders, CareerTrackers, Clontarf Foundation, and Veterans in Construction, we’re ensuring fairness extends from our workforce to our entire ecosystem - supporting Indigenous, social enterprise, youth, and veteran participation across every project.
This includes $117 million spent with Indigenous suppliers and inclusion embedded into every contract with 500+ social enterprises registered in our procurement database, and 130 CareerSeekers internships with 72 permanent hires.
Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion expands much further, to tackling one of the industry’s most persistent challenges - gender imbalance.
Launched in 2022, our Women in Construction program is an Australian-first paid pre-employment course providing job-ready skills and guaranteed full-time roles upon completion. The pilot attracted more than 120 applicants, with graduates gaining real work experience on our infrastructure projects while completing Certificate III qualifications in Civil Construction.
We extended this focus through the Institute of Applied Technology for Construction, developed in partnership with TAFE NSW and Western Sydney University. Nearly 40% of students are women, with many bringing diverse experience from other sectors and positively reshaping construction leadership.
Complementing this commitment is our:
- Emerging Female Leaders Program, which empowers women to lead authentically, build resilience, and drive their own career trajectories.
- National Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Employer of Choice certification,
- Demonstrable year-on-year progress in closing the gender pay gap,
- World's first all-women Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) crew.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion are embedded into our work.
